About Phil South

My name is Phil South and I am a writer, teacher and filmmaker who lives and works in the West Country of the UK. I was born in 1960. I have been a professional writer for about 30 years, and a teacher for about 10. I formerly taught in a world famous theatre school in the West of England helping first year technicians to be filmmakers and storytellers. In my spare time I am a painter and a musician. My most recent album is here.

Now I am a full time writer, writing coach, life coach, hypnotist, and teacher, and my writing course WRITING FIT is available on the Creative Life Training web site, based on the work I’ve been doing for the last ten years.

Right now, you can’t. I’m building my one to one training business around working with people that I’ve built real relationships with. I like to get to know people before I work with them as it helps to advise them on where they are going wrong and what they need to do to become great.

So you can’t hire me as a personal coach, but you can talk to me on TWITTER which will start building one of those real relationships I was talking about.

Hope to talk to you soon!

    Hey Phil:

I’ve been looking for an avenue to respond to the newsletter “Did that come off as a rant?” which is an apology for “Religious Wars and what’s yours.” I guess here is as good a place as any because what I want to say is that I like your style and I love this blog. I read all the newsletters when they come, not just skim through them. While I acknowledge the apology and in some sense I understand why you sent it, I didn’t need one. I use both Mac and PC and I understood the point you were trying to make. So, even though I don’t expect you need kudos to continue doing what you’re doing, I just wanted to say that I appreciated your comments fully, your candor and opinion.

And thank you for sharing your thoughts so freely.

Hi Shelley-Anne, thanks for the kind words. I don’t *need* the kudos exactly, but it sure is nice to have. 🙂 glad to hear you enjoy the blog and the newsletter and thanks for your continued support. It would be nice to get more comments about the topics I raise and I’ll try and stimulate a bit of a dialogue by asking more questions because it’s been awfully quiet in here for a while. Okay I’ve not been posting super regularly I’ll admit that, but as you can see – three posts this week, and I’m going to stick to 2-3 a week from here on in. Blink and you’ll miss ’em.

I will try also to keep the adverts for my published work and courses down to a minimum, because while it would be nice to funnel people towards my commercial wares, it’s not why people come here, it’s not really the point of this blog and I want people to focus more on who I am and what I’m talking about and not what I happen to be selling. Time to gear up and make this a blog worth writing about.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment, please feel free any time. And my email address is any time you have any questions. I always got 5 mins for you guys.

    all the best
